Upon his retirement from the Bundeswehr, Gero Finke was among the most experienced pilots in the German Air Force. Following his training, he served for ten years as a flight and weapons instructor on the F-4F Phantom in the legendary Fighter Wing 71 "Richthofen". From 2003, as a flight and weapons instructor, Squadron Commander, and Commander of Tactical Air Force Wing 73 "Steinhoff" in Laage, he played a pivotal role in the introduction of the Eurofighter into the German Air Force and in the theoretical and practical training of its pilots.
His responsibilities included the associated development of training and instructional content. As the 'Eurofighter' Standardisation Officer within the Air Force Forces Command and subsequently at the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Aviation, he was instrumental in developing new standards and overseeing quality in training and operations for the entire Eurofighter domain. From 2015, he served as Commander of the Richthofen Tactical Air Force Group and later as acting Wing Commander of the squadron in Wittmund.
In 2018, he became a department head at ADAMS, and since 2021, he has served as Managing Director.
